D

D is for determined.
Christain got an erector set for Christmas
and was determined all Christmas day to make
this car. It is really cool, the set came with a battery
powered scewdriver and a motor to put in what
ever is built. After this car he took it apart and built a
crane. He thought after some much time invested he'd
keep it together for a few days.
And he took these pictures himself, he wants it all
documented.

D is for D light and D light is Determined!

Merry christmas to you all.
This year it came so fast, I can't believe it's here.
We had a wonderful week of parties and playing.
We had a really fun time at my family party and Christmas
Eve with the Peerys. And the kids let us sleep this morning until
8:30, not to bad for Christmas morning.
There was a slight mishap with Aydelyn thinking Christains shuffle
was for her, but in the end she loved her barbie house.
Savanah also got a shuffle and Tyler got a NCAA wii game.
We got Rockband and a foos ball table for the family
so the day has been spent playing and fighting over who's turn it is
but all in all we had a great day, and the best part was I didn't get
dressed or leave the house.

I'm free

I'm free as a bird, a bird that can fly in snow that is.
This meaning school is done, over, finished.
(really I have one final left this afternoon, but
I thought it was due Tues. so I showed up to 3D
Design Tues. with my project, anyway it's today,
but the project is done) so I'm free from yucky math
and metal, modge podge, and even though I love
photoshop, I need a break. And I think my kids
would love it if I didn't turn on the computer
once the whole break. That won't happen, but they
can dream.
So is everone ready for christmas?
Not me. I think I'm close though.
It's always the little things that get left to
the end then it's back and forth to the store
500 times. And Greg, I still have most
of his presents left to buy, good thing he
(for the first time) told me what he wants this
year.

And now for a little family update:
Tyler is now officially about an inch taller
than Greg.
Christain just got student of the day at school.
Savanah is still the best big sister in the world.
Aydelyns class just put on a Christmas program
which was very very cute.
Greg is really busy at work and with his calling,
Yesterday Tyler asked "does dad ever get free time?"
The answer is NO.
And I just finished an extremely busy and crazy sem.
And were all looking forward to the holiday!

Class show

So my advanced photo studies class did a show this sem.
It is on the 5th floor of the new UVU library. I am posting
images with this post because being the procrastinator
I am, I just emailed my teacher my artist statement
so my name isn't next to mine yet.
The show will be up for about a week.

holga

So I got a holga camera a few months ago and I just developed the first few roles.
k, it's alot harder to take a picture with a cheap plastic camera than you would think.
This one turned out the best. Light leaks and vinetting are part of the charm of a holga,I know
that but, well I guess I need to just keep on shooting.

WOW
So...... I have seen it twice already and LOVE it.
Greg even liked it, he thought Edward was
a good Edward, (he hasn't read the book
but he's heard enough)
Tyler wouldn't admitt he liked it, but I think he did.
Now the waiting starts for the second movie...

TwiLight

I'm a dork, I know.
I bought the soundtrack to TwiLight.
I saw it sitting on some random self in the
food part of the store, I felt it was
left there for me. So I bought it.
And by the way have you ever noticed the freaks
at Walmart on a Sat. night?
You would think it would be mostly lds people
stocking up on caffeine for Sunday(like me), but no.
WEIRDO'S
Anyway Perry Farrell has the best
song on the soundtrack,
"Go all the way into the Twilight"
and Paramore has some good songs as well.

group shot

A few weeks ago we gathered all the Peery
grandkids together for a family photo.
You can see, not all agreed.
So, the group shot didn't work, but
I still love it. And all the small groups and
individual ones turned out cute.
They are some pretty good looking kids, if I
don't say so myself.
(p.s. check out my photo blog)

HallOweEn parTy

Anual Halloween Party at
the Purdy's

Deann is usually a scary witch,
but this year she surprised the kids
when she came out as a Pirate!
She had stolen loot from naughty
kids and gave it to the good grandkids.
Here she is with Grandpa Purdy on her knee.

Anna and Aydelyn got red sparkling hearts
painted on their faces, Stella wanted to
but the paint was so fun to wipe off!

Greg and Stella playing dress up a little early.

Deann with Savanah, Aydelyn and Ava.
They loved their loot by the way, wich
consisted of as much candy as they need all month.

And every year they have pumpkins for us all
to carve. Mine isn't here, but it was cool.
It said J+G, with a heart by it.
(Savanahs is the one with the big
"S", Aydelyns is the flag one, and Christains
is is the Tikki face. Tyler was to cool to join us this year,
bla, teenagers)
Happy Halloween to you all!!!

Diamond Fork

The youth in our ward hiked to the hot pots
up Diamond Fork canyon a few weeks ago.
It was so fun, and we had perfect weather.
I am loving this calling, and the beehives
are the BEST!

up date

I thought I would give an up date on the family
because it's been forever since I posted.
(not in order either, that would take to
much thought right now)
-The kids all started school, the boys in 7th & 8th grade
the girls in 1st (all day) and 5th grade. They all seem to
enjoy their classes and are having fun meeting new friends.
-I started school and for some reason am taking 14 credits.
oh, That's why I haven't posted in a while.
-I also got called as the 2nd councilor in the Y.W.
-All 4 kids are doing soccer. Luckily the girls are still in
rec so all their games are in Orem. They love it and
I have to say they are both really good. The boys are both
still with the UC Strikers, which I am so glad because they have such
great friends on their teams. Plus their kicking butt!
-They will both be in State Cup starting here is a few weeks.
I'll keep you posted.
-Greg had pneumonia and Bronchitis a few weeks ago, not fun.
He pulled a muscle in his neck from coughing and has now
had a headache for a week and a half.
-He also got to go to California this week for a work conference.
He said he has never seen so many nerds! and it was nice to have
a break from the norm fora few days.
So with 8 soccer games a week,(and 6 practices) 14 credits and y.w.'s
I may not be posting as often, but I'll try, I'm also trying to keep
my house clean it's going about as well as the posting.
Hope you all are doing great
in your own crazy busy lives.

Schofield

At the end of every summer we go
to my Grandma Leavitts cabin with the
Routts. This is a fun tradition that we all love.

We all went to the lake to fish, or tried to fish..

Here is a great pic of Greg, he'll let
Issac take his picture but not me

All the kids in the wagon, we seem
to take this same picture every few years

And here is ALL the kids, Peerys and Routts
this was a really fun trip, and easier too now that
the kids are getting older.

yes, the hairy and the hairless
what more can I say.........................

And here they are on top of a monster
tractor, as you can see Christain and
Sam are playing out some sort of violent
drama? don't ask

And the littlest Routt, mimi.
She was so cute, she followed Tyler
around and always wanted to be with him.

(pictures from the same outing without
the kids on my other blog)

Last night of Summer

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DAN, SAVANAH AND NATE

Grandma and Savanah with
her birthday card

And here is all the grand daughters
(minus Stella) Anna thinks she to big to be
held, but she's not big enough to
hold still.

Aydelyn and Ava love to be daring
on the play ground, their two wild
and silly girls

Aydelyn loves the babies, I usually
have to fight over the babies with her
and Savanah. Here is Aydelyn with
4 month old Sadie

And a closer look at Sadie, I think she
looks just like her mommy

Anna trying to give some lovin to Sadie,
too cute

And the newest addition to the Peery family
Mason Van Peery.

He is such a cutie, and a really good
baby. He has the peery look!

It's here.....at long last

So we made it here, showed up around ten,
and what did we see?
TOTAL CRAZINESS
no, really. Some people went all out.
It was fun though just watching everyone.

Karen, me and Lori braved it out, although Karen wanted
to walk home when she realized how
late we would be there.
Lucky for us Rachel was super rad and got
us wrist bands in the seventies, so at 11:30
we got to stay in the store when everyone above 200
had to go wait outside.
THANK YOU RACHEL
(here she is handing me my copie)

Like I said people were crazy dressed up, alot of
girls in prom dresses, and a ton of Vamps, of course.
Here are some that I got a shot of.
I love the saying on this shirt.

It was cute these girls chased me down a few
minutes after I took their pics to ask
what the pictures were for, they thought I
was with a newspaper, I wish.
Edward and Bella look a like.

Wall to wall mania

Fun shirts were all over the place.

And pure crazy everywhere.

We got it...........
I stayed up a few hours and read.
I am about 250 in and loving it.
Not ANYTHING like I thought it would be,
but good.
I'll keep you posted...

Thursday, July 31, 2008

When we remodeled our basement we added two walls of book shelves.
I thought it would be fun to put things on the shelf that were
from and about our family, it being a "family room".
Here are some of the items on the book shelves.
1. A ceramic hunting boy painted by Gregs Grandma, Sadie Peery.
2 A ceramic horse also painted by Sadie. This was one of the
hobbies she loved to do, she made figures for all her
kids and grandkids.
3,4. Hand carved wooden heads from Africa. My Grandpa
and Grandma Leavitt went to Southern Africa on a misson
when I was a child. My Grandma gave me these heads because
I kept borrowing them for reports
at school, she finally said just keep them.
5. This is Grandpa Brownies hat. He always wore this hat,
just barley tilted to the side.
6. A Hippo carved out of stone, also from Africa.
7. This "man on a bike" I got for Greg one year for Christmas,
it's all the way from Pier One.
8. This wood box is from Hawaii. When my mom lived in Hawaii
she bought it for her mother, Edna Leavitt, then when
I was turning 16 my Grandma gave it to me.
9. A camera and camera bag from Grandpa Browie, (or
Grandma Chomer, depending on who you talk to.)
10. And a ceramic buffalo, another of Grandma Peerys figures.
My kids love all these figures, in fact Aydelyn moves
the little hunting boy to her room sometimes, I keep
having to move it back.
Anyway these are some of the treasures that we have on our
book shelves, along with books. I was in the mood to
take picture so I decided to take some of these. They are fun
things to help the kids learn more about those that they
don't get a chance to meet or get to know. Enjoy.
