Mekel and I had each other for christmas this years and we got

each other the same thing. I guess we have great taste, so does Van

he bought one for Raquel too. Cute. Cute.

This year for Christmas my mom, Nanerz, made each of

the grandkids minkie blankets. They are the most comfy

blankets in the WORLD......... thanks nanerz

Turkey shoot

Thanksgiving evening Tyler and me went to Las Vegas

to the Turkey Shoot soccer tournament. They won 3 out

of 4 games. The soccer was ok but the trip was Fun.

I have been so busy the last few months. Savanah had

a Birthday back in Aug. Tyler had a Birthday in Oct.

We all went back to school, soccer started and life is crazy!

 A few weeks ago I made a blog for Tylers soccer team.

I had some fun photos of his team and a dad on the team had some great actions photos

My sisters and I spent Monday at the Dionsaur park up in 

Ogden. All the kids had a lot of fun digging for bones and eggs.

They got to feed huge fish and ducks and see every kind of

dinosaur. Inside they have real bones and skeletons. It was

very cool, geared toward younger kids, but still fun.

camping

Yes, we camped in the backyard. Aydelyn has been begging to sleep

in the tent and we haven't made it camping yet so the backyard it was.

We watched Wild America, a great camping movie, and didn't get much sleep

but it was fun to be with the family.

My sister is in town so we tried to get some 

photos of all the grandkids, and with the exception of

my boys, all are under the age of 10. I havent gone though

all the images yet but I dout there is one image where

all the kids are looking. Which isnt all bad cuz I got some

cute candids, here is just a few.......

A funny story

misunderstanding

This story refers to an image down a few posts,

the one of Christian cutting the head off the fish.

So as he was doing this I saw one of the neighbor

girls out front, I asked her if she wanted to come in the 

backyard and watch Christian cut the heads off some fish.

She starts walking with me and then says "is he really going

to cut my head off, because my parents will sue."  What?

I looked at her and said "NO, he's cutting the head off of FISH", 

and then I told her that "if someone tell you their going to

cut off your head, you don't continue to follow them".

This cake was so yummy, right when it came out

of the oven I frosted it so the frosting melted then I grated

milk chocolate over it, then when it cooled I added the 

strawberries.......yum yum
Later in the day we went to the park with the Peery clan.

Good food, and fun times.............

last weekend

The sleepover, so two years ago I told Tyler and his friends if they all got straight A's the same term I would take them toilet papering.  This was one of my favorite things to do as young teenager, as I got older I snuck out to do other things. Anyway, two years later it happened, so I told them to choose a girl that wouldn't get mad if they got caught, this would be their first time after all. They chose Kiara, so behind their back I called and told her they were coming, told her to invite some girlfriends over  and I took her some water balloons. What's better than getting ambushed with water balloons when your toilet papering, right?  The boys didn't think it was to funny that night, but they will when they look back on it, I hope, at least it fun for me to watch from the car over in the shadows. And by the way, they were soooooo loud, when I got them back in the car, we drove one block and passed a cop heading towards the houses they had just done.   Eight boys and several rolls of toilet paper later, we got home and they kept parting and I went right to bed.

By the way 3 days later we got toilet papered, not by the girls but by some of those same boys, Greg said, "look what you've started"  I said,"I'm proud to have inspirered the next generation of toilet paperers" 
The next night we went to Orem days, only for the kids I promise. It rained all day, but cleared up just in time for the parade, the second the last float went by it started raining again. So we spent the next hour at the carnival in the pouring, not so warm, rain. The kids still had fun, I think. And by the way the carnival was crappy this year, not one big ride for older people, only baby rides, lame. I guess we'll have to hit strawberry days, they alway have good rides, plus lots of heshers that are always interesting for the kids to stare at.....................

Christian and his friends were making a movie, and this was

Some things I've learned about myself as of late,

well, not really, I've probably always known these things

but lately I've been trying to realize why I do the things, 

(or don't do,) the things I do.

-I can't put things together, which is why I can't

accessorize, decorate my house, or make collages.

-I don't like a lot of high key stimulation, I think I need plenty

of down time/ alone time.

-I talk to myself, ALL THE TIME, really. Not loud, almost a whisper.

 Especially when I'm in the car, sometimes my kids here me and say

"what did you say?" me "oh nothing"

-I like the simple things in life, I don't have to have the frilly,

sparkly, top of the line anything. Which is why you usually

see me in flip flops, jeans and a t shirt. Which might also go back

to the fact that I can't accessorize? Not meaning I don't love new 

things, I just don't have to have them all the time.

-I repress things, I've been telling Greg for years that I don't, that I just deal

well with problems. But I've realized these past few years that I do,

 and it doesn't bother me at all, because that IS how I deal with life.

Don't think about it, don't stress, (except that it come out in my skin!)

-I either say to much or say it to harshly. I don't know how to sugar coat.

I admire people (Mekel, Megan and many others) who can say anything to

anyone and have it come out nice and gentle. You always leave a conversation

with these types of people feeling better about yourself.

-I forget things. call this person, mail this bill, I forget, I get sidetracked,

I don't think I forget the big things, which is more important, right?

-Some say I can be controlling, mostly my kids, but I've

 noticed at school if we have to work in group, I want it my way.

Which is lame I know because I don't always have the best ideas.

(most of the time, but not always, I'm kidding, ) 

-I prefer straight lines? and proper forms, which is why is love

the bauhaus style, maybe it's more masculine than feminine, I don't know.

- I really love history, epecially art history. I love learning about the past

 and why people and cultures did what they did, why things are the way 

they are now because of some thing that happened 2 thousand years ago. 

Which is why I've been wondering why I do the things I do.

-In my mind I'm organized, but only in my mind, not my house.

-I suck at spelling and I really hate math, I mean I would go through

child birth again to get out of passing my math class. You think

I'm kidding but I'm not, it's that bad, ask Greg.

P.S.

I'm adding a few more. I read this to Greg and he reminded

me of a few more thing I should know about myself.

-I always procrastinate, I wait until the last minute, and somehow

pull it off. (most of the time) which drives him up the wall.

-If I don't want to do something I pretend it's not there (math homework)

-I love to sleep, and take naps.

-He thinks I don't get stressed out, and that's why I can procrastinate.

 but I do get stressed out I just deal with it way different than him.

 I do what has to be done right then, and it goes from there. 

These are just a few things that I have been thinking about.

Alice in Wonderland

Happy 50th Birthday BARBI!

I know there are many arguments for and

against Barbi, but I love them.

I secretly played barbies until the summer before 

jr. high school.(sad, I know)

Happy Birthday

He's a teenager now, no more pre-teen jokes

(for two years until Savanah is 12)

He had a great Birthday, I took him and his 

friends to breakfast at 6:30 AM, he had 

a party with the Peerys to celebrate his Lindsey, 

Stella and Gregs Bithdays, and  A party with my 

side, where we got a great 4 generation picture.

Fun times!

And he got sung to by the Allens, he thought that

was great, though he almost blushed.

It's sad really,

I went to toys R' us to find Christian an

erector set, like the one he got

for christmas. I couldn't find one that wasn't

for little kids, so I wondered around the store.

I realized, MY KIDS ARE OLD, with the

 exception of Aydelyn, I can't shop there for them anymore.

When did this happen?

On Sunday I will have TWO TEENAGERS!

When did this happen?

I looked at all the fake tools, and action figures,

cars and animals and GI joes.

I miss buying those things.

Life moves on to fast, I want 

to lock my door and never my kids leave me.

(I say that right now cuz their all at

school and I'm home alone)

really though, it makes me sad.

Tile

So were just about ready to tile our bathroom

and I found this website in a modern home

magazine. In the second Bourne movie when he

is in that mans house waiting for him, 

they fight and Jason kills him. Well the tile in that 

guys house is the coolest tile ever, while their

 killing each other I'm always saying "I love

that tile". Anyway this tile in the first two pictures

are very close to it. The layout of it is a little 

different, small and large rows every other.

I would love to tile the entire

upstairs in this, but for now the

bathroom will do............
